The Dream Tank Creed

You're not here by accident.

The world is asking for the real you. This is where you answer.

You've felt it for a long time. That you're here to build something that matters. That when the world starts breaking, you're meant to be one of the people who steps in, not one who waits.

Every hero you've ever loved is the same story underneath. Aang. Katniss. The reluctant ones who finally stopped waiting and became who they already were. That story isn't fiction. It's the invitation a real life eventually makes, and it is reaching you now.

The world doesn't need a more polished version of you. It needs the real one. Your actual gifts. Your light, undimmed, beside others who chose the same thing. Many lights, one direction. That is coherence, and it is how a better world actually gets built: on purpose, with joy and wonder, next to the young people who will inherit it.

This is the threshold.

Read what they wrote, just below. You will recognize yourself in it. You always belonged here.

What we hold

Written over ten years by young people, ages six to twenty-eight, together with us. Notice how much wonder is in them.

  • Dream Tank respects all life, in any form.

  • The purpose of all business is people, planet, and profit.

  • Dream Tank does not tolerate Dream Crushing.

  • Joy, play, and fun are where our best ideas come from.

  • Failure is a sign of succeeding.

  • We serve others rather than dominate them, for the good of all life on the planet.

  • Dream Tank is open to all who are willing to better the planet with their ideas.

  • We encourage responsible consumption of technology.

Where it came from

Dream Tank began in 2016 as an experiment and the calling of a mother: what if young people were trusted to help design how they work and what they stand for? So we brought them into the room, ages six to twenty-eight, and dreamed together. They wrote these principles over the years, with us coaching, questioning, and dreaming alongside them, and they set their own rhythms too: when to rest, how to treat each other, where technology fit. The creed you just read is theirs and ours, together. There is a longer list as well, more values they named over the years, kept for anyone who wants to go deeper.

Movements have always grown from a simple set of shared principles.

Over the years, the psychologists who sat in on the work kept noticing the same thing. The young people were building real emotional strength and confidence, and they were doing it through play, joy, and wonder, not in spite of them. Later, when we met Rebecca Irby of the PEAC Institute, we learned those same instincts line up with the double-blind-tested keys to transformational systems change, the kind connected to Nobel Peace Prize work. The qualities the world tells us to outgrow, wonder, joy, the refusal to stop dreaming, turn out to be the ones that actually move systems. They never lost them. Ten years on, that is what is traveling the world.
